FAQs

What should I book?

If you have any questions about what your hair goals are, or what type of service they would be classified as, don’t hesitate to reach out. I will do my best to help guide you towards the correct selection, based on photos of your current hair, and what you’re looking to achieve. If you’re still not sure, consultations are always free! Contact me to set up a time to come in and show me what you’re hoping for, and we can figure out how to achieve that together.

How long will my service take?

Most color services, aside from solid color, take anywhere from 3-5 hours. I cannot guarantee a specific time, because we can’t rush greatness! Be prepared to stay a while, and feel free to bring laptops, chargers, snacks, water and whatever else you need to feel comfortable. The salon has free wifi.

What covid measures are in place?

We ask that all of our guests arrive wearing face masks, and that these masks remain on for the duration of your appointment. We also require you to fill out a form stating that you have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, and have not been in contact with anyone that has. If you come down with a fever anytime within a week of your appointment, we ask that you please reschedule, or get tested to ensure that you are not COVID positive.

Between each client, we are sanitizing stations, and shampoo bowls, as well as continuing to disinfect all of our tools. We are unable to offer refreshments at this time, due to the pandemic, but encourage you to bring your own food and drinks.

How many sessions am I going to need?

No two heads of hair are alike. It is impossible to predict the future. I will always do my best to get you to your hair goals as quickly and safely as possible, but I can never promise an exact number of sessions in order to get there.

How can I maintain my color at home?

We offer AMIKA in the salon for all of your hair care needs.

For blondes, and lighter balayages, I recommend purchasing Bust Your Brass purple shamppo, by AMIKA, or Perfect Blonde purple toning shampoo by Pravana. It also essential for blondes to be using a leave-in conditioner, in conjunction with a weekly deep conditioner, in order to prevent your hair from becoming brittle or dried out between lightening services.

Vivid and pastel hair can be maintained by washing as infrequently as possible, and using cool water. A color safe shampoo, such as Vault by Amika, should be used alternately with a color depositing shampoo or conditioning system (such as Viral or Overtone) that most closely matches your color.

It is also important to use heat protectant when you have color treated hair. Using a blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron, or wand can greatly damage your hair and fade your color, if you’re not using proper heat protection.
